Taking inspiration from one of the most famous streets in Paris, the unique and visually captivating terracotta range, Rue des Rosiers, embodies the French city’s spirit of ‘joie de vivre’, meaning cheerful enjoyment of life.
The collection reflects the historical significance of the Rue de Rosiers, or street of the roses found in the heart of Paris’ Jewish Quarter, the Marais, and features both floral and geometric designs.
Ideal for flooring in residential spaces or as beautiful wall features in both commercial and residential application, the French inspired tiles also take design cues from the street’s famed fashion era and the eclectic prevalence of boutiques ranging from quaint to sleek, modern and contemporary luxury.
Vintage Japanese textiles acquired while shopping on Rue des Rosiers was another influence into the many patterns found on the tiles. A mix of tradition and trendsetting with a serene palette with bold pops of colour is what makes this collection so unique.
Beautifully handmade and hand painted in Mexico, the Rue des Rosiers terracotta range consists of a special mixture of clays and adhesives that make it suitable for residential floor traffic and easy for installation on walls. The collection consists of 28 styles and 36 colours, see the full collection in Surface Studio’s Drummoyne showroom.
