Cordoba Blue Cement Encaustic Tile

Our cement encaustic tiles are individually handmade using centuries-old techniques. They are produced from a traditional cement mixture that consists of only natural components such as sand, marble dust and natural mineral pigments. The mixture is placed in a hydraulic press to harden and then cured using a combination of air dry and water submersion techniques. This produces a tile that is suitable for wall and floor application in both residential and commercial applications. As cement tile is not a kilned product it has a level of porosity that can make is more susceptible to stain if left unsealed. Slight imperfections are a characteristic of handmade tile and add to the appeal.
